Retailers need to stop blaming Amazon for their bad results. Their own data exposes how they are losing revenue and customer loyalty. In this talk Kim will examine data that illustrates how retailers are killing themselves. For example: -Out-of-stock and overstock products combine for $1.2 Trillion in lost revenue opportunities for retailers each year, according to the IHL Group -E-commerce sites are built for transactions with the Add To Cart button. Yet with all the marketing expense, shopper conversions are less than 2%. Retailers have this data, yet to date have been unwilling or unable to act on it. But more storm clouds are building around shifting consumer trends. Ad blocking is soaring, as is data privacy concerns. Retailers are finally reacting by building new analytics tools for future demand, driven by consumers who self-personalize their consent and criteria for receiving retail marketing content.
